Brooke O'Shea

 

Brooke was drawn to Dysautonomia Support Network when her daughters were diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and one was diagnosed with POTS. DSN provided the information and support her family needed during that difficult time. Brooke’s family quickly became advocates for DSN and she joined the BOD in 2017. Brooke is an executive coach who is driven by a true passion to help leaders and teams cultivate their capabilities and unique strengths in order to lead with intention and realize professional and personal growth. With integrity, experience and a genuine desire to help people and organizations realize their full potential, Brooke has successfully collaborated with clients representing a variety of industries and cultures through the process of inspired, insight driven strategic change. Brooke has 20 plus years of experience in coaching, organization development and related human resource leadership roles. She is a CPA, holds Bachelor and Master degrees in Accounting from the University of Texas and holds a Masters Certificate in Organization Development from the University of Dallas Graduate School of Management.

Joanna Behm

Academic Fieldwork Coordinator/Senior Lecturer, Master of Occupational Therapy


Joanna is an occupational therapist, Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and Senior Lecturer at Messiah College Master of Occupational Therapy Program. A patient with hyperadrenergic POTS, mast cell activation disorder, and hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome herself, Joanna is passionate about helping others integrate lifestyle adaptations into their routines so they can live their best lives. Joanna is currently a doctoral student at Northeastern University, where she is studying Education with a concentration in curriculum, teaching, leadership, and learning. She has been involved with DSN in multiple capacities since 2014 and enjoys working with fellow patients to meets DSN mission of empowering, educating, and advocating for those with dysautonomia.

Ashley Collins

 

As a seasoned professional in finance, Ashley began her career working in purchasing, order fulfillment and accounting under her first business mentor at age 14. Ashley decided to homeschool herself to accommodate her increasing work hours, completing her high school education at 16. She then pivoted to sales, eventually running a branch of Vector Marketing. Using the skills she had gathered, she began consulting for small businesses and start-ups. Eventually, Ashley joined a group of real estate firms, working in property sales, investment analysis, acquisition, capital management and lending, financial reporting, investor relations, and property management. Ashley rose to part-owner and President of Boston Property Management in 2009 and graduated magna cum laude from Babson College. After becoming too ill with EDS, MCAS, POTS, and various comorbidities, Ashley left real estate. She has since taken on a variety of passion projects, helping people and organizations reach their visions and financial goals. Ashley currently resides in Providence, RI with her boyfriend, fish and bunny Winston. She is an administrator for RI EDS Awareness Support Group, and an active member of Toastmasters and What Cheer Writing Club - a Grub Street Affiliate.

Cathy M.

 

Cathy joined the DSN family as a member seeking support and connection. Due to DSN's positive impact on her and her family, Cathy soon developed a desire to use her knowledge and experience to "give back" to the community. She began volunteering with a passion for empowering patients and their families as they navigate their ways through chronic illness. Cathy lives with her beloved dachshund and family on the East Coast and enjoys crafting in her free time.

Kevin A. McGrail

 

For his day job, Kevin is the Director of Business Growth at InfraShield.com supporting cyber-physical security to assess, defend, recover and restore high-value, high-target systems.

 

In his volunteer work, Kevin helps at a number of organizations including Apache.org, KofC.org, ICISI.org & POAC-NoVA.org.  He also speaks & writes on security and privacy topics, advises SecurityUniversity.edu & Virtru.com & is a Google G-Suite Expert.

Patricia Meegan

DPT, L, ATC & Clinical Director at Healy Physical Therapy

 

Patricia teaches and specializes in treating patients with connective tissue disorders, Chiari malformation, tethered cord, and dysautonomia. As a manual physical therapist, she focuses on correcting alignment and imbalance with gentle maneuvers and techniques that accommodate for connective tissue issues. Her skillful techniques and ability to assess her uniques patient population often enhances strengthening and maximizes the bodies natural ability to heal.
